Azata Stadium — architectural 3D visualization and CGI animation by Saccade studio. Project: Kerimov Architects, Yerevan, 2025. Client: architecture firm Kerimov Architects. Project type: public space. A stadium in Yerevan for the WAF competition: the organic form of a bowl set on a hill, facing Ararat. To show architecture in scale with the mountain landscape — without letting it lose its own scale. Azata is a stadium design in Yerevan by Kerimov Architects, made for FC Urartu's tender: a new arena for about 10,000 spectators replacing the old Nairi Stadium, on a plateau above the Hrazdan floodplain, next to the ancient settlement of Shengavit and with a view of Ararat. Its form brings together three Armenian symbols — the Arevakhach, an ancient sign of eternity, the kochari circle dance and the mountain itself. Park, envelope, stands and roof are conceived as one organic system: a white membrane on timber ribs opens like petals. The project was shortlisted at the World Architecture Festival and the WAN Awards among future sports projects. The task was to show architecture in scale with the mountain landscape without losing its own scale. Seven stills, made in nine days, move from the general to the particular: the bowl in golden evening light above the water and the forest, the snowy peak of Ararat behind the stadium, fans walking beneath the ribs of the facade after rain, the walk out of the tunnel onto the pitch — flags, confetti and full stands — and night, when the bowl glows and is reflected in the water as a fishing boat passes by.
