Marula Eco Village — architectural 3D visualization and CGI animation by Saccade studio. Project: Millenia, Namibia, 2024. Client: Millenia. Project type: mixed-use complex. An eco-village in the Namibian desert — a series of frames for an investor presentation. Organic volumes dissolve into the ochre landscape; oryx, soft dawn light. The task: to convey a sense of untouched nature and of an architecture that does not disturb it. Marula Eco Village is a concept for an eco-village in the desert not far from Windhoek, the capital of Namibia: low, rounded ochre volumes that look as if moulded from the local earth, under wave-like timber canopies, surrounded by vineyards, kitchen gardens and dry savanna stretching to the mountains. The landscape became the main character of the 26 stills we spent two months making for the South African practice Millenia Architects and their investor presentation, with the architecture as part of it: a full moon over the ridge and red dunes, an oryx — the antelope from Namibia's coat of arms — in the pink haze of dawn, a boardwalk through the grass towards the village under a storm cloud, a herd of zebra against the earthen walls, a granite mountain in red sunset light and the night silhouette of the canopies reflected in the water. Closer to people — a restaurant terrace under a lattice canopy and an aerial view showing how the village sits between the fields and the road. Photorealistic renders, visualizations and archviz for real estate developers and architecture firms worldwide.
