A competition project for a school set into the forested edge of Ramenki. A single volume, a minimal palette. The task: to bring living nature and a precise architectural language together in every frame. A competition design for a school in Ramenki by Ginzburg Architects, on a site by a wooded area in the west of Moscow. It is a single pale volume stepping up above a meadow: translucent glass "boxes" of classrooms, thin vertical fins and warm timber inside that glows through the facade. Materials are kept to a minimum — glass, metal and timber — and nature around to a maximum, so in all seven stills, made in 12 days, the forest stands next to a clear architectural language: the school among birches on an overcast day, a view across the meadow and the sports field, winter with a frozen pond, morning mist over tall grass.
