Samorodny Quarter — architectural 3D visualization and CGI animation by Saccade studio. Project: Syntaxis., Khabarovsk, 2024. Client: Syntaxis. Project type: residential complex. Visualizations prepared for the city hall approval of the «Samorodny Quarter» residential development. Towers, relief, a warm metallic tone. Gold — a visual code drawn from the gold-mining heritage of the Khabarovsk region. Samorodny Quarter is a housing complex on Karla Marksa Street in Khabarovsk: four towers of 18 to 30 floors with a low commercial edge around the perimeter. The architecture is by the Moscow practice Syntaxis, the developer is VIRA Group. Using archive maps, the architects found the regular street grid once planned for the area but never built, and brought it back into the master plan; the site sits on a slope, so entrances and courtyards are set on different levels. The project has already won the URBAN award as the best residential complex of its class under construction in the Far East. Of three options — Alunite, Carbon and Gold — the client chose the last: the warm metallic tone of the facades refers to gold mining in the Khabarovsk region, hence the name. We made the stills for city approval — eight of them in 18 days — and looked for how the gold works with light: sunset igniting the edges of the towers, wave-like balconies against the sky, the courtyard between the buildings in evening light, an aerial view of the quarter above the city and a forest clearing with boulders, with the towers in the distance.
