A residential complex in Moscow's Basmanny district, where sections of varying height form a closed perimeter around a private courtyard. Dark sawn brick and terracotta metal reference the pre-revolutionary industrial architecture of the area. A low-rise loft-style residential block on Kazakova Street in Moscow's Basmanny district: dark brick, copper-red metal, large windows on the upper floors and penthouses with roof terraces. We made the images for Ostozhenka Architects for the developer COLDY's closed competition for the project's architecture. The firm won — and, we like to think, not least thanks to the presentation. The brief was to show the building as if it had already been built and photographed: framed by the vistas of old streets, beside the railway tracks, reflected in a puddle after rain, in snow and in the low sunset light that sets the brick and copper aglow.
